My background and how I work
Thank you for visiting my page and being curious about how I might help organize your space!
I've worked as a home organizer since 2016 and transitioned to organizing full time after the pandemic put things into focus.
Since then, I've had the opportunity to help on a multitude of different spaces and projects--downsizing whole houses to apartment living, offices, kitchens, playrooms, livingrooms, bathrooms, storage spaces, garages, you name it!
I love meeting people where they are at and being curious about what makes them tick and what organizing systems will work FOR THEM. I am not a "pinterest" organizer, meaning that a lot of the solutions that I come up with are built with YOU in mind, and not for an imaginary photoshoot with Better Homes & Gardens or Architectural Digest (unless this is what you are shooting for and in that case, let's go for it!)
My strongest belief in this work is that if an organized space is not easy to maintain and tailored to your life and needs first and foremost, it's not doing it's job!
I excel at helping clients with the de-cluttering or downsizing process; sorting through what still holds meaning and value in your life and gently letting go of what no longer serves that purpose. Often, we hold onto the talismans of our past in an attempt to hold onto all the versions of ourselves that we were, or wanted to be. The process of discerning what objects are still alive for you is sometimes an emotional process that I'm honored to be a part of. I ask clarifying questions and help prioritize items with the vision you describe, and facilitate the physical process to keep things flowing.
My first step with new clients is always to take an hour to walk and talk with you through your space. From that initial meeting, I create a plan for how to move through what you'd like to accomplish, and where to begin. I come prepared each session to dive in and guide the process as needed from start to finish. The feeling of completing a space that fulfills what you were hoping to achieve, a space where you feel freer and more able to live with confidence and ease is why I do this work!
I am a current member of NAPO (National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals) and have earned a certificate of study in Chronic Disorganization from ICD (Institute for Challenging Disorganization). I hold a Bachelors degree in Human Services, and have many years of experience working with the elderly as well as people experiencing mental illness.
Previous to working in Human Services, I used a Landscape Horticulture degree to work in greenhouses and aquaponics which informed and fed my love of plants and nature.
Ive enjoyed living and working in Minnesota, Colorado, California and Montana, and now live in (and love) Saint Paul, Minnesota.
In my free time, I enjoy learning about a wide span of different topics, spending as much time as I can outside and taking in all life has to offer with my partner Jason, our beagle/corgi mix, Ivy and our calico cat, Ginge.
I'd love to meet you and help with your home organizing project!
